"We Know That In ALL Things, God Works For The Good Of Those Who
Love HIM."
~Romans 8:28
God is waiting for you to give Him control of your life. If you don't, the consequence is delayed blessings until you do. IF you continue to do things your way and lean on your own understanding, things won't work out the way you'd want them to. And then you'll be asking, "God, why?" over, and over and over again forever. Is that what you want for yourself? Think of it this way. You're a kid in His eyes, who's asking Him for things:
A happy marriage
A house
A great future
Prosperity, a.k.a. plenty of money
Safety
Protection for your children
A great job/career
A thriving business
A long, happy life
Maybe an AMAZING trip next year...
He KNOWS you want all of these things, and He's ready to give them to you. He's ready...but are you?

See, God is a very practical, ULTIMATE being. Most people don't give Him credit for that. They mostly see Him as this magnanimous being floating in the sky with a long grey beard waiting to just bless them all day. Oh, He's waiting alright (minus the beard and floating 3 millimeters off your skin). But He's waiting for a specific reason, and you don't know why.
He's waiting for you...TO HAND HIM THE WHEEL. That's very hard to do, while you're driving. So, He's hoping you'll pull over, BREATHE, and get everything off your chest that has been bothering you for minutes to years. Then, He wants you to get in the passenger seat. Do you think you can do that?

Before you answer that question, really think about it. How many times in the past week did you decide on something (big or small) before asking God what to do about it? Don't feel bad. Most people have your same answer:

Okay, now that we've established a floor, let's get to the good stuff. God WANTS to help you accomplish EVERYTHING you've been dreaming of, hoping for, fighting for, sweating and crying for. He wants you to have it all! But there's just one problem. If you don't do things HIS way, He can't and WON'T co-sign on that personal endeavor. He won't do it! Why? Because He wants BETTER for you, not mediocre, not just okay, not middle-of-the-road. He wants BETTER and BEST. He only deals in perfection. He only deals in superlatives. He only deals in definite outcomes. So, your way of doing things isn't GOOD ENOUGH for Him.
He needs your outcomes to be perfect in all your areas!!! He needs all things to work out great for you, because He loves you. He's the God of the Universe. As His kid, you need and deserve the best. Don't you want to give your kids the best? Okay. God is the same way, just MORE. Think about the scripture I gave you at the top of the article:
"We know that in ALL things, God works for the good of those who love Him."
~Romans 8:28
A more common version is: All things work out for the good of those who love Him. That means, everything wrapped around your life, from people, to work, to play, to material things HAVE to work out for your good, or the outcome is not good enough for God. He loves you too much to let you end up with a mediocre:
Marriage
House
Future
Checking account
Safety
Children
Job/career
Business
Life
And even a mediocre trip next year...

"Okay, Brown Girl, I give up. You've got my attention. How do I get all of those wonderful things you just mentioned?"
"I'm glad you asked."
YOU GIVE GOD CONTROL...
of everything IN YOUR LIFE! From your finances to the next person you kiss. You give God control of EVERYTHING. Don't make a move without Him. Ask Him which coffee shop is best to visit the next time you go out. He'll guide you to the one where the line isn't a mile long. Ask Him which person to go on a first date with. He'll guide you to the guy who will pull out your chair, not the one who won't show. Ask Him what law school to apply to. He'll send you to the one that will give you the most scholarship money, and where you will find your future wife! Ask Him which shoes to buy. He knows where all the sales are and when they will happen. Ask Him to show you anything, guide you anywhere.
Don't cross that street without Him (total metaphor). Looking both ways isn't good enough anymore. HE WANTS TO HOLD YOUR HAND WHILE YOU CROSS. It's time you let go of control. Don't you think?

"Brown Girl, hold on a second! I'm a grown person with a brain. I can make decisions on my own. I don't need God to tell me what to do ALL the time. I'm good. I'm all set."
"Right. Sure."
"I am. I swear. I mean, I'm not saying I'm perfect, but..."
"But HE IS, which means every single thing that He tells you to do: Go left when you want to go right, go on that date and not that date (ugh!), buy that car and not that car...is FOR YOUR GOOD! Do you get where I'm going with this?"
"I think so..."
Okay, well, it looks like we've built trust here. What I'm teaching you is radical, CRAZY, out of the norm, and completely what you need to do to have the quality of life you've been dreaming of all your life. The fact that it's out of the norm shouldn't repel you. It should actually engage you. Think about it. Ask yourself how well your way has been working out for you lately:
Fears for your business
Fears over your bank account
Fears for your relationships
Questions about whether you'll ever get married
Fears your children won't grow up right
Fears you're missing out
Fears your marriage will fail
Fears the court case won't work out in your favor. "Will the judge be lenient?"
Fears you're not good enough, smart enough, desirable enough
Fears you won't have a good retirement
Fears you'll be betrayed...again
Fears you'll NEVER afford your dream home
Fears you'll be lied to, taken advantage of---FORGOTTEN
Fears of a recession, a car accident, a house fire, a burglar, not enough money at the register and holding up the line....
Folks! When you think about it, you walk around with SO many fears about the unknown that's it's amazing you're still upright. God is giving you an alternative.
He's saying, "TRUST ME. Please...Trust Me. I KNOW where everything is! I know who's talking about you, plotting against you, waiting to betray you. I know WHO your spouse should be. I know which house will be affordable and when...during a housing shortage! I know which deal you should take and which one you shouldn't. I know which coffee shop has the best cup of joe. I know which gas station is cheapest today. I know which school you should apply to. Why? Because I made sure your dream teacher applied there and got the job!! All for YOU. All because...I love you. You're My kid."
He's saying, "I know everything. So, I need you to:

Okay, the question that started this article was: God, Why?
"Why are you letting me go through all of this? Why hasn't this worked out? Why did you let that guy come anywhere near me? Why is my boss so horrible? Why do my kids hate me? Why is my marriage failing? Why don't I have any money? Why can't I ever get a break? Why didn't I get into the school I wanted? Why didn't that business deal go through?
Why is it that when I try to find a little bit of happiness in life, it blows up in my face? Why, God?! How do you expect me to trust You if You've let ALL of this happen to me? Why, God?!"
God's like:

God is saying, "Duh! I told you to listen to me and let ME direct you. But Nooo! You went off and did it your way. It didn't work out. Now, you're blaming Me.
That's not fair, is it?"
He's waiting for you to GIVE HIM control, so He can DIRECT YOU to all THE GOOD STUFF in life.

It's going to take A LOT of practice. This is a COMPLETE reversal of thinking for some of you. For others, it's a bit of an adjustment, but doable.
So, now, we've come to the really good part!
How do we go from being "just okay" to living "blessed and highly favored in
The Lord?"
GIVE HIM CONTROL OF THE WHEEL. LET HIM DIRECT EVERYTHING AND
YOU WILL REAP ALL THE REWARDS!!

Want to know what a reward from God looks like:
GURANTEED PEACE OF MIND (you can't even buy that)
Living without past guilts (are you really living if you live with guilt?)
Directions on how to let go of the past
Knowing how to smile on a bad day
Material things (money, house, car, job, etc.)
Great kids
Great friends
A loving family
The best of the basics (what are your basic needs? He'll find you the best of them)
HAVING THE STRENGTH TO HANDLE ANYTHING LIFE THROWS AT YOU. ANYTHING! (there's a secret to this: He never gives you more than you can handle, anyway. ~1 Corinthians 10:13)
And so much more! ~Ephesians 3:20
EPHESIANS 3:20
"Now to Him who is ABLE to do IMMEASURABLY MORE than
ALL you could ever ask for OR imagine,
according to His power that is at
work within us."
Your next question should be, "How do I get all of that, Brown Girl?"
Well, I'm glad you asked.
Tonight, when you're alone and no one can hear you, I want you to say this out loud, "God, give me wisdom. Help me make better decisions. I'm ready to give you control over my life."

YOU: "That's it?! What do you mean that's it, Brown Girl?
That's it? Well...that's easy."
Exactly! That's ALL I want you to do. Ask God for wisdom and clarity the next time you're alone and no one can hear you. Why do you have to be alone, you ask? So that you won't feel insecure when you ask out loud! God loooves it when you ask Him things out loud. He designed this world to revolve around words of positivity or negativity that get put into the atmosphere. It says in Proverbs 18:21:

You want to speak LIFE over your dreams, over your life, over your day? Okay, then say it out loud! "God, help me! Please! I can't do this on my own. I won't do this on my own, anymore. Take control. I'm ready for Your perfect plan. Mine isn't working out too well. I'm DONE with mediocre. I'm done with what I can do on my own. I need You to take over. You promised your way is BETTER. Please...show me what you mean."
Once you say that out loud, God will say:

"We got another one back, angels! She's gonna be alright! He's gonna be alright! Now, get to work! We've got somethin' to prove! Hut, Hut!"
The Lord says, “Test Me in this, and see if I will not throw open the Floodgates of Heaven and pour out so much Blessing that you will not have enough room for it. Try Me! Put Me to the test!”
~Malachi 3:10
Okay, here are your instructions. Tonight:
Ask God to give you wisdom.
Ask God to take control.
Then, later:
Wait for God to blow your mind with BETTER!
Wait for Him to do it again!
Now that you have your instructions, here's what's going to happen next:
God's going to teach you how to hear His voice over your own. It'll be based on YOUR personality and the things He knows will get your attention:
The sun comes out just as you make the BETTER decision from God.
The phone rings to distract you just when you're about to yell at someone. Then, God makes you change your attitude.
Someone calls you out of nowhere just when you need someone to talk to. Afterward, you realize, you asked God for a friend yesterday.
Your car stalls right in front of the building, where your next opportunity will be.
Someone surprises you with flowers just when you were about to cry about something. It's like, somehow, they KNEW you needed them. (It was God who told them to do it at the right time, btw.)
Your kid says, "I love you" when you need to hear it the most.
OR, you literally hear words in your head, and you're wondering if you're crazy. You're not. If it's positive, that's God's voice. You just never knew it till now. All good things come from him, including creativity and good choices.
That's ALL God, baby!
Hmm...God's voice. It's a real thing. God can speak to you if He wants, ya know. Every time a positive thought crosses your mind, it's God speaking to you. Every time a negative thought crosses your mind, it's not Him. Simple as that. Don't believe me? Doesn't matter. It's still true.
You've got to learn to read or hear God's clues for your life one way or another. That takes PRACTICE and TIME! I can't tell you anything else about that experience from here because it's always personal and unique to you. It's based off your personality. Just pay attention from now on. You'll get it. You asked for wisdom, remember?
Last thing, and it's HUGE:
God's not going to give you everything you've prayed for if you're not ready for them, if you're not mature enough for them. You don't hand your teenager the keys to your Porche before he learns to drive. It's just not done! God's the same way! He needs to make you really good at listening to Him and Trusting Him before He gives you everything you dreamed for. Otherwise, you might mess things up! Ha. You have to know...His voice. How else are you going to know which direction to go? Do you hear His voice sometimes, all the time, or never? Whatever your answer, make sure you ask God to make His voice clearer and clearer for you.
One day, you'll just know God's voice from your own. He wants to show you how to be a better YOU before He gives you what you asked for. That way, you'll know how to take care of Your Blessings. So, He's going to teach you patience in bumper-to-bumper traffic, compassion in tough situations, and love when the other person doesn't deserve it. HE'S DEFINITELY GOING TO TEACH YOU HOW TO PRAY TO HIM <--- CLICK LINK, and He's DEFINITELY going to teach you how to FORGIVE OTHERS! Holding grudges is the FASTEST way to withhold your blessings from God!
"Therefore, I tell you, WHATEVER you ask for in prayer, BELIEVE that you have ALREADY received it, and it WILL BE YOURS.
BUT, BUT, BUT,
(here's the MAJOR caveat)
When you pray, IF YOU HOLD ANYTHING AGAINST ANYONE, FORGIVE them, as your Father in Heaven has forgiven you.
~Mark 11:24-25
In other words, God's going to withhold the good stuff from you--everything you've been dreaming and praying for--if you refuse to forgive someone about something. It doesn't matter what they did to you. God KNOWS it's bad. But this is a rule, and it's for your own PEACE OF MIND. Remember, He's working for your GOOD. That includes your mental and spiritual health. He's a comprehensive God as well.
Trust me. Resentment and bitterness will eat away at you until death. God doesn't deal in resentment and bitterness. So, if you want HIS blessings, and you're finding it REALLY HARD to forgive someone, the solution is easy. Ask God to help you forgive them:

He's your helper, now. He's your toolbox, now. Use Him. He's there...
TO TAKE CONTROL.
Take care and God Bless Always.
